Fanshawe College’s Pathfinder tool, for example, is a free, online quiz that helps students discover career and program pathways aligned with their interests and strengths. Built on a widely respected career-choice theory, the short quiz not only determines how a person’s unique personality matches different work environments, but helpfully suggests areas of study and Fanshawe programs best suited to their interests. Students can see how different options connect to specific programs and potential careers, giving real-world form to what were once merely abstract aspirations.
Fanshawe’s Prep Programs: Building Confidence Through Exploration
Pathfinder is only one part of Fanshawe’s efforts to embrace a modern approach to education. The college, which is one of the largest in Ontario, offers more than 200 programs, including certificates, prep programs, hands-on apprenticeships and degrees, giving students a multitude of educational entry points. For undecided students, eight-month prep certificates are especially valuable because they provide general-interest learning and important skills without the pressure of deciding on a specific career path from day one.
